Michael is a Senior Associate and Team Leader for the Bristol Based Employment team.
Michael studied Law at Edinburgh University and joined Lyons Davidson in August 2012 initially as a paralegal in our Edinburgh office working within the Personal Injury department. Michael undertook his Traineeship with Lyons Davidson during which time he undertook a number of seats including working within the Employment department. Immediately following qualification as a solicitor in Scotland Michael joined the Bristol based employment team as a Senior Case handler. Michael subsequently also qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales and holds current practicing certificates in both jurisdictions.
Michael now leads the Bristol team and is responsible for supervising a number of Case handlers in addition to providing support to the Employment Law Group leader. Michael enjoys providing supervision and support to colleagues on a day to day basis and assisting clients obtain positive outcomes
Michael has extensive experience representing both Claimant and Respondents involved in complex Employment Tribunal litigation. Michael also provides support to both employees and employers by advising upon a number of matters including contract disputes, settlement agreements, disciplinary matters and TUPE transfers as well as providing general HR guidance and support. Michael also works in conjunction with our commercial departments in preparing for and executing TUPE transfers on behalf of Corporate clients.
