Amayi qualified as a solicitor in 2019 and is part of the Advoca team specialising in care proceedings and children law matters. She represents parents in care proceedings and has experience dealing with cases that involve domestic abuse, parental mental health, drug abuse, sexual abuse, learning disabilities and non-accidental injuries.
Amayi also represents parents in Child Arrangement matters, relating to contact orders, prohibited steps orders and specific issue orders.
She often represents vulnerable clients in difficult circumstances and is therefore attuned to dealing with sensitive matters in a compassionate manner. Amayi is committed to advocating a client’s case to ensure the best possible outcome for them and, where possible, represents clients at court hearings. She looks at practical and innovative solutions in resolving a matter.
Originally from Sri Lanka, Amayi is easily able to understand and empathise with differing cultural practices and norms whilst also taking a pragmatic approach to the legal process here in the UK.
