The Fairtrade Foundation has been working hard since 1992 to ensure better prices, decent working conditions, local sustainability, and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers in the developing world.

Monday 24 February marked the start of Fairtrade Fortnight 2014 across the UK and in each of the Lyons Davidson offices.

Lyons Davidson is a long-time supporter of the movement, having made the switch to purchasing only Fairtrade tea, coffee and sugar nine years ago.  This commitment to procuring sustainably and ethically is embedded in our wider CSR and environmental management work, and has seen us rewarded three years in a row at the South West Fairtrade Business Awards.

This year saw us getting involved in Fairtrade Fortnight 2014 through our Switch to Fairtrade Challenge. The challenge was designed to support employees with their own purchasing decisions and encourage them to make the switch to buying any Fairtrade product.   The fortnight ended on a high when we were awarded with Gold at the South West Fairtrade Business Awards in the office category.
