Lyons Davidson Bristol raises £18,000 for local charity
Throughout 2014, Lyons Davidson’s Bristol offices raised a total of £18,379.37 for The Green House, the charity that staff chose to raise funds for throughout the year. The money was raised through a mixture of events, including bake sales, book sales, raffles, a summer party, sweepstakes around various sporting events and a monthly Dress Down Friday, which in itself raised £2,000 over the course of 2014.
The Green House is a local charity that provides counselling to adults, children and young people who have experienced sexual abuse or sexual violence. It is the only service in Bristol that counsels children and young people under 14 who have experienced sexual abuse or rape. The charity provides these services for free with the aim of increasing the physical, mental and emotional well-being and resilience of the people it assists and preventing future re-victimisation. Find out more about its services here.
A big thank you to everyone who gave time or money to help achieve this fantastic result, especially the hardworking Charity Committee, who organised the fundraising drives and motivated so many people to give.
