Successful mock Employment Tribunal day in Birmingham
Lyons Davidson’s Employment Law team joined forces with Acas on 30 April to host another of their successful Employment Tribunal training days.
The event, hosted by LD’s Solihull Employment Law team and Acas West Midlands, saw 47 delegates in attendance. The event was a continuation of successful mock tribunals already presented in Bristol, Cardiff, Leeds and London.
Employment Tribunal decisions
During the course of the day, the team explained what is involved in a tribunal, why things happen in the way they do and how decisions are made. Delegates were able to see what it is like to give evidence and be cross-examined, and they were also able to put forward their views on the evidence they heard and give opinions on what they believed the outcome should be. Lyons Davidson’s Jenny Clark-Lewis led proceedings, and cross-examination came from her advocate colleagues Jen Marshallsay and Sarah Ludlam.
Acas conciliators were also present to discuss alternative dispute resolution, along with the new Early Conciliation service that launched last month.
Nick Jones, Lyons Davidson’s employment partner, said that the day provided “excellent feedback from clients and lots of new interesting contacts.”
