James runs a varied and complex caseload of fast and multi track claims, including claims for breach of contract, misrepresentation (often related to property purchases), contractual disputes and general civil litigation matters.

He is committed to achieving the best result for each client in the most efficient and cost effective way possible, bearing in mind the commercial realities of the matter. Should such a resolution not be possible then James is an experienced litigator capable of pursuing matters to trial as and when necessary.

James joined Lyons Davidson in 2011 as a paralegal in our Contract Resolution team, dealing with consumer contract disputes. He then moved on to spend close to two years working in the Employment team, an area in which James retains a particular specialism within his Professional Negligence work. He began his training contract in 2014, completing seats in Commercial Property, Advocacy and Professional Negligence before qualifying into the Dispute Resolution department in 2016.

Since qualification, James continues to use the experience and expertise developed during his training contract, together with the time spent working as a paralegal, to provide clear, concise advice to his clients. He is able to quickly identify the key points in large and complex matters, distilling the main arguments to progress a case.  He is proficient at not only advising but listening to clients, taking on board their concerns and aims for the litigation to achieve the best result possible for their circumstances.
