Lyons Davidson and Acas Mock Tribunal Success
In September, Lyons Davidson’s Bristol Employment and Advocacy teams, working in conjunction with Acas, presented a mock tribunal to 40 local directors, business managers and HR managers.
The mock tribunal simulated what happens at a real employment tribunal. Lyons Davidson’s Employment Partner Nick Jones sat as the tribunal chairman, while Acas Director Tony Cooper and Head of Training Mike Fenn accompanied the team.
Employment Tribunal decisions
During the course of the hearing, the team explained what is involved in a tribunal, why things happen in the way they do and how decisions are made.
Attendees were able to see what it is like to give evidence and be cross-examined, and they were also able to put forward their views on the evidence they heard and give opinions on what they believed the outcome should be.
Following the hearing, praise was given to Luke and Jennifer for their advocacy skills, with one attendee stating that they would have “no apprehension in instructing either advocate to represent the business.”

The event was so well received that Lyons Davidson are extending the provision and are now working in conjunction with both Acas Bristol and Acas South Wales.
