Lyons Davidson and Acas host successful London mock employment tribunal
On 27th September Lyons Davidson’s London Employment and Advocacy teams, working with Acas at their central London Office in Warren Street, presented a mock tribunal to 30 local directors, business owners, managers and HR managers.

The mock tribunal simulated what happens at a real employment tribunal.
Lyons Davidson’s Employment Partner Nick Jones sat as the tribunal chairman, assisted by Zeba Sayed, Employment Solicitor in the London Employment team. Advocates Alex Crosbie-Jones and Sarah Ludlam examined and cross-examined the witnesses, while members of Acas London accompanied the team.

During the course of the hearing, the team explained what is involved in a tribunal, why things happen in the way they do and how decisions are made.
Delegates were able to see what it is like to give evidence and be cross-examined, and they were also able to put forward their views on the evidence they heard and give opinions on what they believed the outcome should be.
Following the hearing, praise was given to Sarah and Alex for their advocacy skills, with one attendee commenting on “excellent course material relevant to any HR specialist.”
