Training

We encourage people to develop in their roles and continuously improve their skills and knowledge, as well as providing them with progression and promotion opportunities.

We’re keen to promote ongoing learning for all staff and are proud of our Investors in People accreditation, which we’ve held since 1998. We provide a variety of training opportunities, including legal updates, webinars and training sessions.  We also offer a comprehensive induction for all new starters.

For staff keen to gain further qualifications, there are funding opportunities, study leave provision and paid membership fees.  We’re advocates of multiple routes to qualification for legal staff, including training contract opportunities, Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx) qualifications and apprenticeships.

Reward & benefits

If you join us, you’ll receive a wide range of company benefits, including holiday entitlement of 25 days, rising to 27 after two years and then 30 days depending on length of service or promotion to a senior role, plus an extra eight days for bank holidays.  Lots of our roles have an incremental salary structure in place, meaning your salary progresses as you develop in the role.

As well as a matched company pension scheme, we offer costs for eye tests, health screening, season ticket loans and a cycle-to-work scheme. Our benefits scheme is flexible, meaning you can choose the benefits that suit you.

Each office has its own benefits committee that organises discounts and other benefits, and makes sure everyone is aware of what is available to them.

We think it’s really important to recognise staff for their contribution and commitment to the company, so we have an employee recognition scheme to recognise and reward our staff, and a recruitment referral scheme to reward employees who refer new staff to Lyons Davidson.

We also have an employee of the month and a day-to-day recognition schemes, as well as long-service awards.  The year culminates with our annual awards ceremony for everyone who has received an award throughout the year and, from these, we select an employee of the year.

Health & wellbeing

We help our staff to stay healthy and happy by offering a health cash plan that enables you to get money back from visits to the dentist, optician, physiotherapist, chiropractor and other healthcare costs; access to a 24/7 GP service and a 24/7 advice and counselling service; online health resources; plus access to a range of health and lifestyle discounts and offers. We also provide fresh fruit in every office on a regular basis.

Most locations have break-out rooms for staff to sit in, relax or take time out to meet and chat with.

There are also Social Committees in each office, which organise events and activities, including a number of sporting activities to get involved in.
