We offer a full range of pensions legal services, advising employers and trustees as well as individuals, professionals and pension providers. We assist in employment disputes and in divorce settlements where there is a pensions aspect. In corporate transactions we advise employers and trustees on moral hazard issues, funding and notifiable events, as well as providing thorough pensions due diligence. We have obtained clearance from the Regulator in a range of deals and have devised recovery plans and approved withdrawal arrangements. We enable clients to achieve regulatory compliance and effective scheme governance which are essential risk management tools for trustees and employers. We draft all types of trust documentation as well as communication material for pension scheme members. We also supply a series of training services.
We are specialists in restructuring and winding up pension arrangements; advising trustees and employers about priorities on termination; reducing deficits; trustees' powers, duties and responsibilities; recovery of trust assets and past breaches of trust. We also operate an independent trustee company, Lyons Davidson Trustee Company Limited, which is on the Pensions Regulator's panel of approved trustees and which has been appointed to act for over 60 occupational pension schemes. It also accepts appointments as a professional trustee to manage continuing pension plans, acting alone or working alongside individual trustees.
