Insurance Litigation
Recoveries - Motor
The Recoveries Division provides a comprehensive outlay recovery service for our Insurer clients and, where relevant, uninsured loss recovery for their policyholders. Services are tailored to meet the needs of individual insurers and can be provided either at our offices in Bristol or on-site at the insurers premises.
Our on-site teams work alongside an insurer’s recovery team providing assistance when a case requires litigation. Proceedings are prepared and issued by the on-site team who retain conduct of the matter until the case is settled or requires enforcement, at which time it is transferred to our specialist enforcement team in Bristol.
Our team in Bristol service a number of insurers and offer a variety of different solutions. High volume recoveries can be managed from first notification of loss or for litigation only as required. We are used to handling large-scale recoveries projects of up to 50000 files and we are experienced in project managing bulk work, processing it through to settlement.
Across the division, recoveries regularly exceed £1 million per month.
All teams work to agreed service levels compliant with the insurer’s specifications and agreed with the insurer client at the start of the contract. These are continuously monitored throughout the life of a claim. Our Audit and Compliance department conduct monthly quality review audits, the results of which form part of the management information that we provide. We embrace external auditing as a means of ensuring that service levels are met.
Our philosophy is to maximise recovery potential and minimise recovery times through pro-active claims handling and, where relevant, early litigation. Settlement times vary depending on the type of work undertaken, but in instances where we have been asked to litigate these times are usually in the region of three months.
We believe in transparency when it comes to the provision of management information and encourage our insurer clients to collaborate with us in the formation of a suite of management information geared to their individual needs. This information can be provided through the extranet to be run at any time, and all reports provide a link from the individual result set to the file for further analysis.
