Intellectual Property
Companies are becoming increasingly aware of the value which intellectual property rights give to their business. It is important that a business recognises at an early stage what intellectual property rights it has, what it needs to do to protect those rights, how those rights can be exploited and how it may avoid infringing the rights of other parties.
Like any other item of property, intellectual property rights can be exploited by an outright assignment to a third party or by permitting a third party to exploit such rights by virtue of a licence. We can advise on a range of intellectual property rights, including trade marks, patents, copyright and design rights and can advise on the creation, exploitation, maintenance, development and protection of such rights.
We provide advice on all aspects of computer and internet contracts and e-commerce, including:
- software licences and software support, maintenance, development and distribution agreements
- hardware sale and maintenance agreements
- confidentiality and consultancy agreements
- website development, internet content and website hosting agreements
- terms and conditions of use of and access to websites
- registration and use of domain names
