Advocacy Department
The Department offers a vast range of services in-house and to external clients. We consist of a range of Barristers, Solicitors and Advocates with clerking managed by the Advocacy Practice Manager. Our department has grown steadily following its introduction to the firm in 1999. From an initial starting point of 344 instructions per annum, the department increased its role within the firm and by the end of 2003 we recorded almost 1000 new instructions in that year. 2004 produced well in excess of 2000 instructions, 2005 produced in excess of 3180.
We have advocates in Bristol, New Malden, Solihull and Leeds, meaning we cover a wide area including the North of England, the Midlands, South West, Wales and London. The unit receives instructions in multi, fast and small claims track trials, appeals, disposal hearings, inquests, detailed assessments and infant approval hearings. We also provide advice either in writing or by telephone and drafting. We aim to replicate a set of chambers within Lyons Davidson and can offer significant savings in addition to a total legal service for our clients. We can offer an advice turnaround of two weeks or sooner in some cases. We can also instruct outside counsel in certain circumstances.
