What is Meruit Costs New Malden?

We are an in-house costs firm owned by Lyons Davidson. Originally formed to supply costing services to Lyons Davidson, our excellent reputation and dedicated staff meant we expanded to provide the service to external firms.

We provide the full spectrum of costs work, ranging from estimates to detailed assessments, predominantly on behalf of claimants. It includes:

  • Legal costs budgeting and estimating;
  • Negotiating costs settlements;
  • Drafting points of dispute;
  • Schedules of costs;
  • Statements of costs;
  • Bills of costs;

The department is divided into five teams:

  • Team one is negotiations team 1, dealing mainly with fast-track matters and high-speed turnover files;
  • Team two is the taxation and assessment team, dealing mainly with multi-track high-value cases and  CFA matters;
  • Team three is the drafting team, which deals with bill drafting in civil, employment, solicitor/own client and multi-track high-value cases;
  • Team four is the costs administration team, providing administrative support to the department, accounts, enforcement and PFA matters;
  • Team five is negotiations team 2, dealing mainly with fast-track matters and high-speed turnover files.
