Meruit Costs is Lyons Davidson's internal costs department. The department deals with all aspects of costs disputes, including:

• Preparation of bills of costs;
• Schedules of costs;
• Points of dispute;
• Replies to points of dispute;
• Negotiating settlement;
• Solicitor/own-client disputes;
• Auditing;
• Providing estimates;
• Costs advocacy.

As well as providing costs services to Lyons Davidson, we receive instructions from other firms of solicitors and from insurance companies.

Meruit Costs is based in Bristol and New Malden. The Bristol office deals primarily with defending claims for costs. The New Malden office deals predominantly with pursuing claims for costs. Many of the department's members are members of the Association of Costs Lawyers.
