Arnold v W Potrafke (UK) Ltd, in which the claimant crashed his car after falling asleep at the wheel and was rendered paraplegic. Successfully sued the claimant's employers for operating an unsafe system of work, which required long hours of work and overnight working with no breaks. (Reported in The Lawyer.)

Chapman v London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, a successful liability claim against the local authority for failing to properly inspect trees after a decayed branch from a tree fell onto the claimant's car during storms, causing him to crash and rendering him paraplegic. (Reported in The Lawyer and on Lawtel.)
