The Civil Litigation department was established in 1997, primarily to deal with a variety of cases referred to the firm by our legal expenses insurer clients. It has expanded from five staff in 1997 to over 60 staff today. The majority of our cases are still referrals from our insurer clients but we also deal with individuals, companies and businesses.

We handle a wide range of general civil litigation, including:

• Consumer contract;
• Building disputes;
• Professional negligence;
• Boundary and neighbour disputes;
• Damage to property from tree roots, flooding, etc.

The requirements of each client and each case will often vary but in every case our primary aim is to settle clients’ disputes quickly and cost effectively. We are passionate advocates of the benefits of mediation but where needed have the skills and experience to achieve the best outcome for you at trial.
